Trade tape
What each public trade shows, and what it deliberately leaves out.
Each trade on the public tape shows its market, price, size, side and time.
It carries no account and no order id.
Order ids are left out on purpose. They are issued in sequence, so two of them would reveal how many orders the whole market placed in between, including orders that were cancelled or never filled.
The same goes for everything built from the tape: candles, volume footprint and market statistics are aggregates of trades and name nobody.
